Acne
Generally speaking, finds the best results she achieves are through a combination of both an at home medical grade routine alongside some in clinic treatments.

Acne
Acne vulgaris is a skin disorder which affects most people at some stage in their life whether as a teenager, or later in life in the form of adult acne. It has been shown that 64% of 20-29 and 43% of 30-39 have a degree of visible acne.
Acne is multifactorial and can be influenced by all of the following factors: family history, ethnicity, diet, hormones, stress and oil levels.
Dr Anj works in a holistic way to really try to help you understand your acne history, triggers and patterns in order to try to tackle the acne for the long term.
Many of us suffer with acne and have tried so many different treatments and products to no avail. Please see gallery below for some cases of varying severity which Dr has treated.
Most of these cases have been treated with a simple at home medical grade routine, combined with in clinic treatments such as mesotherapy and chemical peels. Medical grade skincare has a stronger evidence base than over the counter skincare and is designed to act at a deeper level in the skin. It tends to therefore be more potent and give better results than over the counter skincare. This is skincare that must be given by a medical professional. It is suitable for sensitive skin too. Dr believes that skin health is a skin journey. It starts with having a skin consultation with her to understand your skin history, your concerns, your skincare routine and your goals for treatment. Her aims are for you to really understand your skin and then she will give you all the options which will be emailed to you following your consultation.
Any products can be posted out to you and treatments booked if applicable. You will have another review call in 6-8 weeks and then another at around 16 weeks to refine things long term. Anj will always be available on email for support through your skin journey.

Hyperpigmentation
This is the most common skin concern which we treat in clinic alongside acne and affects so many of us. Common forms of hyperpigmentation include:
-
Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation: This can be in the form of dark marks from previous spots or pigmentation caused from trauma or invasive procedures. On the left is an example of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation which we treated which was left from previous teenage acne that the patients had.
-
Melasma: This can be hormonally induced and UV induced due to lack of sun protection. This tends to form as patches, sometimes above the upper lip and also on the cheeks bilaterally. This tends to be more stubborn and harder to treat than PIH.
-
Sunspots/ Agespots: These are again caused by cumulative sun exposure likely with little or no protection via SPF.
Darker skin tones can be known to have more stubborn hyperpigmentation but this does not mean we cannot get rid of it!
We work in a holistic way to really try to help you understand your hyperpigmentation, triggers that may be making it worse and patterns in order to try to tackle the pigmentation for the long term.
Many of us have areas of hyperpigmentation and have tried so many different treatments and products to no avail. Please see gallery below for some cases of varying severity which we have treated. For dark circles see here.
