Dimpled Chin
In some patients, when your chin naturally sits further back, in order to create a lip seal (i.e. to close your mouth at rest), our mentalis (chin) muscle is under a lot of tension. This is visible as dimpling on our chin centrally when we close our mouth.
Placement of a small amount of neuromodulator into our mentalis muscle can relax this muscle and therefore give the overlying skin a smoother and less dimpled appearance.
This is often combined for best results with chin filler to both balance the side profile and improve ability to create a lip seal as well as reduce the dimpling aesthetically.
