These lines occur adjacent to our eyes due to repeated contractions of the muscle in this area when we smile or squint. Over time, the skin keeps folding in that way and you start to see lines at rest. This gives the face a more-aged appearance and can mean makeup settles into these lines.

Placement of neuromodulator into the affected muscle can relax these muscles so that you can still move, but the lines are softened/alleviated. This is ideal for maintaining softer, smoother and younger looking skin. ‘Baby btx’ is a term used to describe very small amount of botox placed into the affected area to keep things looking as natural as possible.

This treatment is best done preventatively, i.e. before these lines are in our skin at rest. If the lines are already fixed at rest, we can soften the lines that appear on making expressions, but can then never get rid of the fixed lines completely. It is therefore best to start earlier rather than waiting for these lines to become worse. We can then use ‘baby btx’ and results will inevitably look more natural.
